Friday 1st April 1881 WIFE ASSAULT. David Butler, 6, Johnson-street, Salford, hawker, was charged with assaulting his wife,
Mary, on the 28th inst. –The case having been proved the prisoner was ordered to find one
surety in £5 and himself in £10 to keep the peace for twelve months, or in default
fourteen days’ imprisonment.
