The map shows mainly open lands with some wooded areas. It includes: L & N.W. Lancashire Railway Lines, the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and the River Douglas from the top to bottom on the left side of the map, also includes: a Pumping Station, Haigh Park, a Dairy and Laundry. On the reverse side of the map is a named list of Private Residents and Farmers extracted from Kelly’s Directory of Lancashire 1918
