Renowned for its Guild, the great carnival ceiebration held once every twenty years, Preston had an illustrious past, and at the height of its Victorian splendour lost no opportunity to display its medieval ‘Lamb and Flag’ emblem and proclaim its triumphant motto, Proud Preston.
