This CD contains three books: Jubilee History of Horwich Co-op 1862-1912, History of Horwich Methodist Church & School, and extracts from the diary of James Close 1927-1959. There is a list of Presidents from John Riding 1863 to Thomas Jones1912, a list of Secretaries and Managers 1863-1912. Photographs include: Presidents, Commitees, Employees and Co-op Shops, (Employees photo shows over 65 people, men, women & boys) also co-op shops eg. Blackrod, Crown Lane, Bee Hive, Bottom’o’th’Moor, Chorley New Rd., etc plus the cottage where the Society first commenced in.. Includes Balance Sheets of the Accounts and list of names. James Close’s Diary shows a list of events including marriages and Burials eg. Sat 29 Feb 1936 George Hughson died suddenly on Bolton Wanderers football ground, etc.
