The information which is contained in this download is taken from the original registers, the originals of which are held by Lancashire Archives at Preston.

This download, which is in PDF format, contains a scanned copy of the original baptism registers complete with a transcript of the 1,574 baptisms performed and an index to the 6,703 names of children, parents and godparents which appear in the register.

St. Vincent de Paul, Openshaw: 1896-1921

This parish was founded as an off-shoot of St Brigid’s, Bradford-cum-Beswick, with a school-chapel opened in 1896. An asbestos church was then erected in 1900, which in 1955 was reconstructed in brick. From 2003 the parish re-joined with St Brigid’s, then with St Anne’s, Ancoats. The final Mass was celebrated in 2006.
