A scanned copy of the original baptism registers 1863-1898 complete with a transcript of the 3,579 baptisms performed and an index to the 16,659 names of children, parents and godparents which appear in the register.

St Alban, Ancoats (1863-1898)

The mission was founded in 1863 in a school-chapel on John Street; a new church was opened on the adjoining site, facing Fawcett Street in 1878. The parish was decimated by post-war slum clearance and the church was subsequently served from St Michael’s Ancoats from 1960, it was closed in 1968 and demolished
